Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has revealed that he will have to eat his words with regard to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Talksport pundit predicted before the start of the season that Tottenham would finish 8th or 9th in the league table after the departure of Harry Kane. The north London outfit were overly dependent on the England international in recent seasons and the prediction is hardly a surprise.
Agbonlahor admitted: “I’ve got to eat my own words. I said Spurs could finish like eighth or ninth because they lost 30 Premier League goals last season.
“This season they’ve won by tight margins and spread the goals around the team.”
However, Ange Postecoglou has completely transformed the north London outfit since his arrival and Spurs have looked like a completely different unit.
They have looked more like a team than ever before and Tottenham are reaping rewards for their impressive performances. They are currently on top of the league table and still unbeaten in the Premier League.
Tottenham will hope to secure Champions League qualification and push for trophies this season.
Given their performances this season, there is no doubt that they will be genuine contenders for Champions League qualification this season. If they can bring in a couple of quality additions in January, they might even be able to push for the league title.
