Postecoglou targets £26m man based on forward’s ‘attitude’ and ‘immense potential’

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Gent striker Gift Orban in recent weeks.

Ange Postecoglou is looking to add more quality and depth to his attacking unit after the departure of Harry Kane and the 21-year-old Nigerian has been identified as a target.

Apparently, the striker could cost £26 million this summer and he could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition.

A report from Daily Express claims that the Nigerian is a player with ‘immense potential’ and he has already impressed the Australian manager with his ‘attitude’.

The 21-year-old might not be ready to lead the Tottenham attack every week, but he would be a quality acquisition for Spurs and he could compete with Brazilian international Richarlison for the starting spot.

Orban scored 20 goals across all competitions last season and he has started the new campaign with a flourish as well.

The opportunity to play for a Premier League club will be a tempting option for the player and he will be keen on the move if there is a concrete proposal on the table.

The asking price seems quite reasonable for a player with his potential and Tottenham certainly have the finances to get the deal done.

Orban could prove to be a bargain at that price if he manages to adapt to English football quickly and fulfil his potential. Spurs have been linked with a number of other strikers and it remains to be seen who they end up with.
