Postecoglou names ‘magical’ former Spurs star he would love to have in his team

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has lavished praise on former midfielder Glenn Hoddle.

In an interview with the Premier League official YouTube channel, the Tottenham manager was asked to pick one legend he would love to have in his current Tottenham team.

The Australian manager revealed that he would love to have Glenn Hoddle on his side and the former Tottenham star had something magical about him.

He said: “I’ll pick a Spurs player in Glenn Hoddle. Every time he was on the ball, something magical was about to happen.”

The Englishman was a fantastic servant for Tottenham during his time at the club and he played over 300 games for them. In addition to that, Hoddle has managed Spurs during the early 2000s as well.

There is no doubt that he was a top-class player in his prime and the club would benefit from having some like that in the side now. Spurs are lacking a creative central midfielder in the absence of James Maddison and Hoddle would have made a big difference to the team.

Spurs have missed a creative spark in the final third in their recent outings and they will hope Maddison can return to action soon.

Meanwhile, Spurs have picked up a morale-boosting victory over Newcastle United in their last Premier League outing and they look to put their rough patch of form behind them and embark on a winning run now.

They will take on Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Friday night and it remains to be seen whether they can grind out all three points tomorrow.
