Tottenham Hotspur crashed to defeat against Manchester City in the FA Cup last week.
Manager Ange Postecoglou chose not to use Yago Santiago during the game and the Spanish media believe that the Australian manager ‘lacked the courage’ to use the 20-year-old against Manchester City when his side needed more adventure going forward.
Santiago is highly rated by the Galicia press, and they believe that he is a ‘total footballer’ who will develop into a special player for Tottenham.
The 20-year-old is yet to make his senior debut with North London club, and he has been quite impressive for the Tottenham youth team. He has been a key member of the under-21 squad and he has picked up six goals and for assists in 11 matches across all competitions this season.
Santiago is a winger who will add pace and unpredictability to the Spurs attack going forward. He could develop into a long-term asset for the Londoners with the right guidance. There is no doubt that he will need first team opportunities in order to develop further and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to provide them with the platform in the coming months.
The young winger has a contract with Tottenham until the summer of 2025 and the Premier League club will probably be hoping to tie him down to a new deal if he manages to impress in the coming months.
Tottenham could certainly use more quality in the attack and their fans will hope that the 20-year-old can fulfil his tremendous potential with them in the coming seasons.
