Mauricio Pochettino spoke to Daniel Levy last Saturday to iron out the details of his official separation from Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
The Argentine’s period of gardening leave is now finished, so he is free to return to management, six months after he was shown the door by Levy.

One would think that conversation could be slightly awkward, but Poch was apparently in jovial form, even finding room to joke that he wasn’t Levy’s first choice for the job when Tim Sherwood was relieved back in 2014.
“I also joked with him: ‘Oh, you signed me because the manager you liked at that time, [Louis] van Gaal, chose to go to Manchester United,’” he said, firmly tongue in cheek, according to his interviewer in The Guardian.
As detailed in the Daily Mail, Van Gaal revealed earlier this month that he was pursued by Levy in the summer of 2014, and that the chairman left Van Gaal’s house in the boot of a car to avoid being snapped by the press.
Some people may be sick of Pochettino clinging on to his time at Spurs, but his latest round of interviews have again shown him to be thoroughly decent, grateful for his time at Spurs and forgiving about the way it ended.
