Poch odds-on favourite for Spurs vacancy

By The Boy -

MAURICIO POCHETTINO is the clear favourite with Ladbrokes to return to Spurs as their next manager.

With Pochettino thought to be in the running for a sensational comeback to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it’s now odds-on at just 8/11 with the bookies he’s back in the dugout.

Erik ten Hag finds himself next in the betting at 4/1, followed by Antonio Conte at 5/1.

Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes told The Boy: “Spurs fans cannot get enough of the thought of Pochettino returning. His odds have tumbled all morning and the support is showing no signs of slowing down.”

We could do a lot worse than bring back Poch in my book. If only because he knows Daniel Levy inside and out and they say forearmed is forewarned. Levy would have to back him this time around or the whole media and fanbase would erupt if the same lack of ambition and investment happened again. Though of course there is less money about everywhere now, which might go in Levy’s favour. I think more important than the successful league/CL campaigns under Poch was the brand of football he got Spurs playing, what Daniel refers to as the Spurs DNA.

Klinsmann has been quoted as saying he’s open to the job. Would that be a good appointment?

I’m reading the players are having a big say on this. I don’t think that’s a good thing.

The club can and will survive without Kane regardless of the manager. Poch is not the answer. Conte is not the answer, Potter and Parker not even close. forget that Belgium manager. I will go get the Guy from Ajax. I think he can get our beleaguered lot to play a tune with his system. Try and get Van de Beek at a reduced price who is wasting at ManU and we will be decent with fixes to the back line.

IF this were to happen, remember you heard it here first. It will all end in tears.

Spurs have probably lost £150 million and have to repay £175 million next March. So I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Jamie Redknapp said “they’re all f**king clowns down there” so your analogy that it’s a circus is very apt.

If you take a look the last 24hours do make it more plausible. Zz and conte are on the market and Poch has 12 months on the contract. PSG can’t close a contract extension for mbappe but how that would change if Zz was manager of PSG.
Moyes went back to West Ham will also be on Levy’s thinking.
Poch is the calming factor. BS of fans saying yes we want him back but in the future is stupidity.
Though if Poch came back I’d hope he would get certain guarantees for changes he wanted previously.

Just because some sentimental fans are putting money on it doesn’t mean it’s going to happen

I’m surprised that Poch would even want to come back at this juncture. Surely if this were to happen then there would need to be some cast iron guarantees from Levy over backing and also this would need to extend to Kane if there’s any any hope of placating him…
