Playmaker has ‘entered the radar’ of Tottenham, they will face competition from Liverpool

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing the Moroccan midfielder Bilal El Khannouss.

A report from Corriere Dello Sport claims that the 19-year-old midfielder has attracted the attention of English clubs with his performances and he has ‘entered the radar’ of Tottenham and Liverpool.

It will be interesting to see if the two clubs follow up on their interest with a concrete proposal to sign him in the coming months. The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be an attractive proposition for the KRC Genk midfielder and it would be a major step up in his career.

However, the 19-year-old needs to join a club where he will play regular first-team football so that he can continue his development and fulfil his potential.

Tottenham already have James Maddison operating in his role and they are unlikely to be able to accommodate the 19-year-old in the starting lineup. There is no doubt that he would be a quality, long-term acquisition for them and a useful player for now, but the move might not benefit the Moroccan.

As far as Liverpool are concerned, they have a number of creative players at their disposal and they should look to aim for defensive midfielders instead. The 19-year-old could develop into a top-class playmaker in the near future, but he needs to be careful with his transfer choices for now. A move to Tottenham or Liverpool might not be ideal for him at this stage of his career.
