Pete O’Rourke claims 20-year-old sensation is now the ‘top target’ for Tottenham

By Mehdi Gokal -

Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke has reported that Tottenham Hotspur has set its sights on Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior as a ‘top target’ ahead of the January transfer window.

As per the report, Spurs’ chiefs see ‘huge potential’ in the 20-year-old ‘sensation’.

Recent Italian media reports have linked Iling-Junior with a potential move to the Premier League side.

Despite his promising talent, the winger has experienced limited game time this season, featuring for only 113 minutes for Juventus.

Eager for more consistent playing opportunities, Iling-Junior is reportedly keen on leaving Juventus in search of regular playing time.

Tottenham emerges as the main contenders for his signature and are reportedly ready to negotiate with Juventus to secure the winger’s services in January.

Juventus, too, are reportedly keen to offload Iling-Junior, with manager Massimiliano Allegri eyeing Argentine midfielder Rodrigo De Paul.

However, De Paul’s arrival could hinge on the sale of the talented winger.

With Tottenham facing significant injury woes, notably long-term absences of Solomon and Perisic, coupled with Richarlison’s struggles, there’s a pressing need for adding a left-sided attacking player.

Spurs could be able to secure his services at a reasonable price in the upcoming transfer window.

They are extremely short on options in the defense and midfield. Failure to sign reinforcements in these positions can seriously derail their season.
