Paul O Keefe reveals when Cristian Romero can be expected back from injury

By Mehdi Gokal -

Paul O Keefe has revealed when Cristian Romero can be expected back in latest update.

The Tottenham centre-back sustained a hamstring injury during their 2-1 victory against Everton, playing only the first 45 minutes before being substituted at half-time.

Manager Ange Postecoglou subsequently confirmed that the defender is poised to be sidelined for a period of four to five weeks.

O Keefe has now given an update on the expected return of the Spurs fan favourite.

When asked on X about Romero, he said:

“Another 2-3 weeks was rough estimate when I asked.”

This is great news for Spurs, considering their limited number of games in January. Romero might miss just two to three matches before his return, potentially making it in time for the Brentford match based on the given timeline.

Spurs have upcoming fixtures against Burnley in the FA Cup and Manchester United in the Premier League this month. Should they progress to the next FA Cup round, their match would likely be in the final week of January.

If everything progresses smoothly without any setbacks, Ange could have both Micky van de Ven and Romero back for the Brentford fixture.
