Club insider Paul O Keefe has dismissed reports about Tottenham’s bid for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
It was reported yesterday that Spurs have launched a surprise €60m bid for the Barcelona star. It claimed that the Catalonian club received an offer from the North London club worth €60 million, inclusive of add-ons, alongside a four-year contract proposal for the central midfielder.
The news came as a surprise to most since Spurs were not even remotely linked with the midfielder.
And the reliable O Keefe has now dismissed the reports. He shared the update on X claiming that any reports claiming that Spurs have bid for de Jong are ‘utter nonsense’.
Utter nonsense.

TBH Says:
O Keefe strongly dismissing any reports of a bid being launched for de Jong does hold weight. However, that is not to suggested that a move in the future is not possible.
Spurs are starting to show ambition in signing targets sought by big clubs. In fact, in January alone they have managed to beat Bayern Munich to the signing of Radu Dragusin and Barcelona to the signing of Lucas Bergvall.
