Paul O Keefe believes Tottenham will sign attacker with 23 goals and 21 assists in the summer

According to club insider Paul O’Keefe, Tottenham Hotspur is considering signing Timo Werner on a permanent deal in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Werner joined Spurs on loan from RB Leipzig during the January transfer window, with a six-month deal that includes an option to make the move permanent for just £15 million.

Having previously struggled to find his form during his time at Chelsea, where he scored 23 goals and 21 assists in 89 appearances, the German international now has a second opportunity to prove himself in the Premier League.

Since arriving at Tottenham, Werner has made a promising start, featuring in four matches and providing two assists.

However, with Richarlison excelling in the center-forward role and Heung-min Son returning from the Asian Cup, Werner may find his starting position in the first team diminished to that of a squad player.

Son is expected to reclaim his position on the left side of the front three, with Richarlison leading the attack and Kulusevski operating on the right flank.

Despite the potential reduction in his playing time, O’Keefe believes Tottenham will opt to secure Werner on a permanent basis, given the relatively low cost of the transfer.

When asked about the likelihood of Spurs signing Werner permanently, O’Keefe expressed confidence, stating, “Probably. Very cheap considering.”
