Paratici Could Bring £30M+ Rated Attacker To Tottenham

By The Boy -

Serie A Star Domenico Berardi could be on his way to Tottenham, according to Italian Calciomercato. The 26-year-old makes for an interesting prospect, given that he scored quite a few goals for Sassuolo who finished eighth in Italy’s top flight. The Cariati Marina born right-footer scored 17 league goals, and further single strike for his national side.

Obvious concerns are that after 10 seasons with Sassuolo is this where the attacker makes a leap into a foreign league and all the acclimatization that might entail? The Premier League is littered with examples of players who have simply struggled to exist.

Ideally, this is where Paratici’s expertise in the marketplace could be a deciding factor. With big money at stake, the decision needs to be the right one, Transfermarkt believes the player is currently worth in the region of £31million.

The final question might be who the boy replaces? My money might be on Erik Lamela who surely cannot remain at Tottenham any longer?

That is the general perception but Italian players rarely play abroad as they prefer to play in their own league and who can blame them. I also think that although there are a lot of good players there, obviously not all Italian, the pace of the game is quite slow compared to the PL.

The Italian league is full of quality. As Fab is the expert on that league we must surely be expecting a good few transfers from Italy.

From what I have read, the Indian variant,( I couldn’t give a flying f**k if someone thinks I’m racist), has had increased infections without increased deaths. If Boris had been more decisive by reacting to this strain quicker and closed air travel from India at the appropriate time, the problem could have been averted. I have always been in two minds about Boris, but when I heard his speech at Carbis Bay that” we should become more gender neutral and feminine”, I realised that we are all doomed.

Yes all too predictable.I can see pretty much the same squad for the coming season.

Great observation HH. I take that tack on all players coming to the English game. We see the Chelsea lot struggled mightily until the end of the season. Had they not won the CL all would be labelled flops. Am going somewhere. Spurs needed a striker and they got Vinicus on loan. What was the expectation and in your opinion based on his performances in the ropey league, would you consider him a flop or not good enough to be classed amongst the rookie struggles but would get better in year 2?

I think the Delta variant of covid (mustn’t say Indian variant as it’s racist apparently!) might have something to do with Boris changing his mind. As for the transfer window I think it’ll be same old same old. A struggle to sell our players because Levy will be asking too much, and no players coming in until our deadwood is sold. The classic catch 22.

I’m really interested to see how this transfer window pans out. Not just for Spurs but for all clubs. They are all feeling the pinch and with Boris changing his mind as often as his partner there is no certainty we will have full stadiums back by August.
I actually expect a lot of chairmen to adopt the “Levy method” and hold tight for a flurry of last minute, stick or twist transfer deals. You’d think that would play into the hands of our parsimonious leader. The irony is, Levy is actually the worst exponent of the “Levy method”.
My expectation is that the Kane deal will go to the wire especially now we have drawn Citeh in the season opener. I doubt Kane will play for either side that day. My only hope is that Paratici has all ducks aligned to spend the “Kane money” quickly and we are not stuck with Son and Troy Parrot filling in until the January window opens. If we still have Son that is.

I like to think that the majority of Spurs fans, despite what most people think, are a patient bunch. Well, we’ve certainly had to learn to be over the last 20 years. However, if we finish the transfer window with the standard quotes “our priority is to sign players that will improve the squad and we will not just make signings for the sake of it” or “the deal was very close but we feel the demands of the player just didn’t fit within our wage structure” then i fear any patience or goodwill ENIC have accrued will be lost forever if hasn’t been lost already…
