Neymar has told The Telegraph that he adores Harry Kane and believes the Tottenham Hotspur star is an ‘incredible’ player ahead of the World Cup.
In Qatar, the two men appear to be leading their respective countries’ charge for glory. Kane was the tournament’s leading scorer four years ago and will look to win it again in Qatar, becoming the first player in the history of the tournament to win it back-to-back.
Meanwhile, Neymar will look to cement his place as a Brazilian legend by leading his country to their sixth World Cup trophy- and their first since 2002.
In a recent interview with The Telegraph, the Brazilian has claimed that Gareth Southgate’s team can win the World Cup this year and expressed his admiration for the Spurs striker. He said:
“I really forgot about England but obviously they have a chance. I really like (Harry) Kane and (Jadon) Sancho. They’re two incredible players and I have a special love for them because I like players that have their qualities.”
England’s World Cup hopes will be heavily reliant on Harry Kane’s performances in crucial tournament moments. Gareth Southgate will need to get the most out of him if England is to advance further in the tournament.
England is in a group with the United States, Iran, and Wales. On paper, this is a simple group, and there is no reason why England should not comfortably advance to the tournament’s knockout stages. Kane’s chances of winning the top scorer award are also improved by the relatively easy group.
