New Tottenham signing is going the extra mile behind the scenes to improve fitness

Reports from The Athletic indicate that Tottenham Hotspur’s recent signing, Radu Dragusin, is going above and beyond behind the scenes at the club’s training facilities.

He is yet to make his first Premier League start under Ange Postecoglou, the Romanian defender has already made four substitute appearances for the Lilywhites.

Known for his diligent off-pitch self-care routine, the 22-year-old is highly health and fitness conscious. The report reveals that he meticulously manages his food intake, monitors his sleep patterns, and prioritizes gym sessions before and after training whenever possible.

In January, Spurs successfully finalised the signing of Dragusin, a long-pursued target, overcoming competition from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

The agreement with Genoa secured the promising young centre-half on a six-year contract for a fee of €25 million, with an additional €5 million in add-ons.

Ange Postecoglou played a pivotal role in convincing Dragusin to choose Tottenham’s project over that of the German side, engaging in four discussions with the player.

Dragusin received significant playing time in Spurs’ recent 4-0 league victory over Aston Villa, substituting for the injured Micky van de Ven around the 49th minute.

During his 41 minutes on the pitch at Villa Park, Dragusin showcased his defensive prowess, completing 34 out of 39 passes with an 87% accuracy rate. He contributed 2 blocks, 1 interception, and 1 clearance, while also recovering the ball twice, according to FotMob.

With the Dutch defender expected to be out till the international break, Dragusin is likely to start against Fulham as well.
