Tottenham are reportedly in the running to sign Brazilian center-back Rodrigo Becao from Udinese.
Rodrigo Becao’s name has been mentioned a lot in the Italian media recently, with three Premier League clubs, as well as Inter Milan and Torino, all said to be interested in his services.
Last week, Tutto Udinese stated that the Spurs are prepared to make an offer for the defender and been relayed in the report by Messaggero Veneto (h/t Team Talk),
His current contract is set to expire in 2024 and the Italian club are trying to get him to agree on a new deal. But the report adds states that the player would want a ‘fixed price’ added in his new contract if he signs one with Udinese.
However, the report adds that the Becao himself would prefer a move to England as he wants to try a new league.
The ‘most interesting offers’ have come from the Premier League. The other two clubs interested in him are Everton who are looking to replace Yerry Mina and Arsenal who are looking to add another Brazilian to their team to compete with Saliba and Gabriel.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed in his latest update that Spurs actively looking to sign a new centre-back in January while also admitting that one of their main targets Inter Milan’s Bastoni is out of the picture for a January move as the club will not sell him. And with Spurs finding it difficult to land Bastoni, they could very well look for other options.
If Spurs do opt for the Brazilian they will be facing stiff competition from the above mentioned Premier League clubs as well as Italian clubs Inter Milan and Torino.
