Manager feels 12-goal star will ‘definitely fit’ Tottenham because of their ‘philosophy and the vision’

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old midfielder has been a key player for the Dutch outfit the season, and he is thought to be on the radar of a number of European clubs along with Spurs.

Retired Dutch manager Adriaan de Mos has now suggested that the 22-year-old playmaker is better off joining Tottenham, compared to big clubs like Real Madrid.

“I think Lazio, Roma, AC Milan and Tottenham, those are teams that could definitely fit. That then has to do with the philosophy and the vision”, he said via FeyenoordPings.

“Selecting through and wanting to build with a young squad, then he is a building block I would like to have in there. I think he should look at a club that really suits him.

Kokcu needs regular game time in order to continue his development and fulfil his tremendous potential.

He is likely to get ample first-team opportunities at Tottenham. The North London outfit are crying out for a playmaker who will help create goalscoring opportunities for the attackers and chip in with goals consistently as well.

The Feyenoord captain certainly fits the profile, and he has 12 goals and four assists to his name across all competitions this season.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham follow up on their interest with a concrete proposal for the Feyenoord midfielder at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old is far from his peak, and he is likely to improve further. He could prove to be a solid, long-term investment for the Premier League side.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs can finish in the top four and secure Champions League qualification now. Attracting top talents without the lure of Champions League football could prove to be difficult for the London club.
