Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign the Bayern Munich winger Mathys Tel.

According to L’Equipe and RMC Sport (h/t GFFN), Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has managed to turn things around and get the deal done for the 19-year-old. The French attacker will join Tottenham on loan or a permanent deal.

If he joins permanently, Spurs will need to shell out €60 million for his services.

Initially, the French attacker had turned down the opportunity to join Tottenham after they agreed on a deal with the German club. It seems that Levy has managed to convince the player to change his mind.

The player has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester United as well. The two English clubs will be thoroughly disappointed to have missed out on a prodigy young talent like him.

Chelsea need more support in the attack, especially with Mykhailo Mudryk facing a potential ban for doping. Manchester United have allowed Marcus Rashford and Antony to leave the club and they are short in the attacking department.

The 19-year-old will look to secure regular football at Tottenham now and continue his development in the Premier League. He is capable of operating anywhere across the front three, and he could prove to be a very useful acquisition for the north London club.

Tel is highly rated across Europe and he is expected to develop into a world-class player with the right guidance. Tottenham have done well to nurture talented young players over the years, and it remains to be seen whether they can help him fulfil his world-class potential.

In an update from Fabrizio Romano, the player will join Spurs on loan for the remainder of the season and they do not have an option to sign him at the end of the loan spell. The attacker is now on his way to England with his agent to finalise the transfer.
