Kylian Mbappe reportedly wants PSG to sign €60m-rated Tottenham target

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Villarreal defender Pau Torres in recent months.

A report from 90 min revealed back in November that Tottenham made inquiries to sign the Spanish defender at the start of the season and they are likely to make a move for him at the end of the season once again.

Now a report from the Spanish publication AS claims that Paris Saint-Germain are keen on signing the defender at the end of the season and French international Kylian Mbappe wants the French club to sign Torres at the end of the season.

There is no doubt that PSG have substantially more resources compared to the London club and it would be a major blow for Tottenham if the French outfit are truly interested in signing Torres. The 25-year-old central defender has a release clause of around €60 million in his contract and it remains to be seen where he ends up at the end of the season.

Tottenham are in desperate need of a quality centre back and Torres would be a superb long-term acquisition for them.

The Spaniard could be the ideal partner for Cristian Romero at the heart of the Tottenham defence. Spurs have been vulnerable at the back this season and they cannot afford to go into the new season with the same weaknesses.

They must look to bring in upgrades on Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier and Japhet Tanganga at the end of the season.
