Journalist names player who is likely to replace the injured Destiny Udogie against Wolves

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham left-back Destiny Udogie is set to miss the game against Wolves after picking up an injury last week.

Club insider Paul O Keefe reported yesterday that the young full-back has not trained all week and that the medical team were to further investigate his injury.

And today, manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed that the Italian will miss the match against Wolves. He claimed that the player picked up a knock and will definitely miss this week’s game.

However, the injury is not deemed too serious and Udogie is expected to be back for the next game.

It is interesting to see how Ange copes without Udogie who is so instrumental to the way Spurs play. Since coming into the team in the summer, he has established himself as one of the best left-backs in the league and has almost mastered the role under the Australian.

Spurs do not really have a proper back-up for him, with Ryan Sessegnon also out injured. This leaves Ange with Ben Davies, who may not be the most technically gifted player but has proven himself to be a top-class utility player for Spurs.

He filled in as a makeshift centre-back in the absence of Micky van de Ven and hardly put a foot wrong. And Evening Standard’s journalist Don Smith believes, he will be given the task to replace Udogie on the left against Wolves.
