According to Dean Jones, Tottenham are interested in replacing Conte with Thomas Tuchel are have began making moves behind the scenes.
Conte is set to leave the club at the end of the season. His contract ends in the summer and even though there has not been confirmed reports, but all reports suggest that the Italian will not be signing a new contract with Spurs.
Daniel Levy and co have reportedly begun their search for replacements with a number of managers linked with the job.
Among those linked include Marco Silva, Mauricio Pochettino, Luis Enrique, Roberto De Zerbi and former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.
Some reports suggested that there are no truth in links with Tuchel but according to Dean Jones, Tottenham have begun ‘making moves behind the scenes’ to ‘sound out’ the German manager.
Speaking to Ranks FC podcast, Jones said (quotes via Football Fan Cast):
“Other names that I’ve heard, Tuchel, definitely somebody they would at least like to sound out here, and I think have been making moves behind the scenes to just sound out that situation.”
Thomas Tuchel did an exceptional job at Chelsea winning the Champions League and the Club World Cup with them as well as reaching three domestic Cup finals. His win percentage at the club was 60%.
Whether Tuchel will be interested in the Spurs job is a seperate matter considering his affiliation with Tottenham but there is no doubt that he will be a very good replacement for Conte.
Another manager who would be welcomed by the fans is Mauricio Pochettino who is considered the favourite to take over the job at the moment. Daniel Levy himself is said to keen on bringing the Argentine back.
