Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie.
According to journalist Ciro Venerato, Italian giants Juventus are looking to raise some funds and they would look to sell the 24-year-old American International this month if a suitable offer arrives.
Apparently, the midfielder dreams of a move to Tottenham but the Londoners are yet to come forward with an offer.
Venerato said, (h/t TuttoJuve): “As far as the January market is concerned, the club will tend to sell because it would like to raise cash. First with McKennie. He dreams of Tottenham, but there are currently only offers from lower Premier League clubs.”
Tottenham could certainly use more quality and depth in their midfield and the American International could prove to be a useful signing for Antonio Conte during the second half of the season.
The 24-year-old is a box-to-box midfielder who will help out in both phases of the play. His arrival would allow the Italian manager to rotate his midfield more often.
Tottenham are currently pushing for Champions League qualification and they will need to improve their squad in order to finish in the top four.
McKennie will be hoping to make an immediate impact at the London club if the transfer goes through in the near future.
As of now, a January move seems highly unlikely. Tottenham have other priorities and a move for the American international might have to wait until the summer transfer window.
The Londoners have been heavily linked with a move for the Sporting CP defender Pedro Porro and the 23-year-old could solve their right-back problems if the transfer goes through this month. Spurs should also look to sign a quality attacker who will add creativity and goals to the side.
