Journalist believes 52-year-old manager would be a disastrous appointment for Tottenham

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked to the move for the former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique.

The 52-year-old is currently without a job after parting ways with the Spanish national team following a disappointing World Cup campaign.

Enrique has been linked with a move to the Premier League with Tottenham tipped as one of the potential destinations. However, South Korean journalist Jason Lee believes that it would be a disastrous appointment for Tottenham. Lee claims that Fabio Paratici recommended the Spanish manager to Spurs and his previous appointments suggest that Enrique could be another disappointing choice.

Paratici recommended the likes of Gennaro Gattuso and hired the likes of Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte. It remains to be seen who comes in as the long-term replacement for Conte in the coming months.

Cristian Stellini has been put in charge on an interim basis and Tottenham have been linked with managers like Julian Nagelsmann as well.

The 35-year-old German is currently without a job and he has been linked with clubs like Tottenham and Chelsea.

As far as Enrique is concerned, the 52-year-old has proven his quality at Barcelona in the past and he won major trophies like the league title and the UEFA Champions League during his time at the Spanish club.

The Spaniard certainly has the pedigree to succeed in English football as well and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to take a chance on him.
