Barcelona forward Ansu Fati has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.
The 20-year-old has not been a regular starter for the Spanish club this season, and that has fuelled speculation surrounding his long-term future at the club.
The talented young attacker has started 11 league games for Barcelona and just twice in the Champions League.
A player of his quality needs to play regularly in order to fulfil his potential and it remains to be seen whether Xavi Hernandez is prepared to give him the necessary opportunities.
A report from Mundo Deportivo claims that a number of clubs are keen on signing the versatile attacker and the player’s agent Jorge Mendes has now informed his client of the interest from Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur.
The report further states that Barcelona have already given the green light to his agent and it remains to be seen whether the 20-year-old ends up at a different club next season.
Apparently, Fati is determined to succeed in his boyhood club, and he wants to do justice to the number 10 shirt which was worn by club legend Lionel Messi for several years.
The attacker has informed Mendes that he wants to continue at Barcelona beyond this season, and he believes that he is young enough to turn things around at the Spanish club.
When Fati broke through to the first team scene, he was regarded as one of the brightest young prospects to have come out of the club’s academy in a long time. He was expected to develop into a world-class player.
However, his development has been halted because of injuries and it remains to be seen whether the 20-year-old can get back to his best.
Spurs need to add more quality and depth through their attack and Fati would be a superb long-term acquisition for them. The 20-year-old can play anywhere across the front three and his versatility will be an added bonus.
