Jamie Redknapp feels Tottenham Hotspur are guaranteed to finish in the top four.
Tottenham Hotspur have had an impressive first season under Ange Postecoglou. The Australian manager didn’t take long to get used to the Premier League and he has got the North London club playing some exciting attacking football.
Postecoglou’s team have done an impressive job in the Premier League and are currently fourth on the points table. They are on course to secure Champions League football for next season and their recent win over Nottingham Forest helped them climb above Aston Villa in the table.
The North London club are level on points with Aston Villa with only goal difference separating the two teams. Spurs do have a game in hand and they will look to pull clear of Unai Emery’s team in the coming weeks.
Redknapp makes top four prediction
Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp feels Tottenham will easily beat Villa to a place in the top four and he made his opinion known during a discussion with Roy Keane on Sky Sports after his former club’s win over the Tricky Trees.
Redknapp said via GiveMeSport: “They’ve got the nucleus of a young squad. Van De Ven is top quality, Maddison has been a good signing. I think they’re pretty much guaranteed to get into the top four, I can’t see Manchester United going on a run. It would be a capitulation from Tottenham if they didn’t get Champions League football right now.”
He feels a top-four finish is pretty much guaranteed for the North London club and the only way they do not secure Champions League football is if they throw it all away. Redknapp doesn’t see Villa overtaking Spurs and 6th-placed Manchester United are unlikely to go on a winning run from here on.
