Jamie Redknapp has spotted a major weakness in 21-year-old Tottenham star’s game

By Saikat -

Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp has spotted a weakness in Destiny Udogie’s game.

Tottenham are on course to secure a spot in next year’s Champions League thanks to their 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest yesterday. While the North London club did get the desired result thanks to an impressive second-half performance, the first half wasn’t really good enough.

Spurs took an early lead thanks to a Murillo own-goal but they couldn’t keep it intact for too long as the Tricky Trees equalised with the help of a Chris Wood strike in the 27th minute against the run of play.

Destiny Udogie’s error led to the goal as the 21-year-old full-back was caught out of position.
It allowed Anthony Elanga to run in behind from the right, and the former Manchester United star ended up crossing it into the path of Wood who helped it into the back of the net.

While Spurs did bounce back and managed to win the game 3-1, Udogie’s error didn’t go down well with former Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp.

The 50-year-old seems to have spotted a weakness in the 21-year-old full-back’s game. While talking on Sky Sports during half-time, Redknapp highlighted the fact that Udogie has often been caught ball watching which is something he needs to work on.

Redknapp said via TBR Football: “I did a game a few weeks ago, the Fulham game, and he gets caught. He does this a lot. He ball-watches, Destiny Udogie.”

While the Italian has enjoyed an excellent debut campaign, his position has been a problem according to the former Tottenham midfielder. He has often been caught out of position and needs to work on it. The positive is that he is only 21 and is expected to get better with time.
