Tottenham has made a fine start to the Premier League season and the Lilywhites have now been made favourites to win the competition.
Spurs have been trophyless for 12 years and they have made Jose Mourinho their latest boss so that he can end that wait.
The Portuguese manager helped them to finish last season in a Europa League place and his team looks well placed to finish this campaign even higher, if not by winning the title.
There has been a lot of talk about Tottenham’s chances of winning the Premier League, and the BBC sampled the opinion of some fans in a Twitter post.
The post asked if Spurs were working on a title challenge, and here are some of the reactions:
Spurs have no better time to do it ,kanes been resting with injury and now back , City are burnt out ,Liverpool have a weakened defence .

Leicester and spurs seem the biggest threat so far.
I said when he took over he'll win Tottenham a title. I've no idea if I'll be proved correct, but he's certainly the right manager to do it.

If they keep their defence tight then yes. But they are playing a lot of games so I reckon Mourinho will target one of the cups or Europa possibly so they could drop off. They have the depth to be top 2 or 3 do.

It’s very possible, I believe it hinders on whether or not their 1st 11 can stay fit! Just do turn defo yea, have a big chance. Gut says no as there main players always get major injuries

There was obviously some negative responses, probably from Arsenal and Chelsea fans, which is to be fully expected and naturally ignored.
Tottenham is well placed for a title challenge, it is still early but that does not mean we cannot aim for the stars and be positive. I certainly am.
5 games from now, then we will know where we are at.
Will be good to see how we play against more attacking teams in the next few weeks. It might serve us well because breaking down defences hasn’t been our forte. Yes, we have won the games v Burnley, WBA and Brighton but we didn’t make it look easy. Chelsea seem to be putting teams to the sword with a bit more swagger than us. I just hope this is their purple patch and start to drop points again. I have a nagging feeling the West Ham and Newcastle draws are going to bite us on the backside. 4 points will be huge come the end of the season. We have given up a free loss on where we are now. I would be happy getting back in the top 4 and anything else is a bonus. If we can average 2 points a game we’ll make it.
Yes, money talks – now the ‘top two’ have got back into the swing of things and winning (ok they drew against each other at the weekend) the bookies have responded and we’re back down again.
Add to this that sadly, hand on heart, Chelsea look a little bit ahead of us in terms of progress and there’s no way we’re favourites.
We should be favourites to get a CL top 4 place sure. Also, beat City and THEN we might see a shift from the bookies.
The last two weeks Skybet have been offering me less of a cash out return on my £30 to win the title anyway.
I don’t know how you make us favourites, nobody has told the bookies.
