ITK: 23-year-old Spurs Ace Not Bothering In Training

By The Boy -

This one will run and run, ironically, unlike Tanguy Ndombele himself, who appears to at best manage a bit of a jog.

When people fall out with each other, it is not uncommon for some to act like children and signal their unhappiness, as opposed to vocalize it in a meaningful manner in order to seek a resolution.

Footballers are a classic example of this technique and want-away players have form for disengaging and operating outside the group. Feigning injury is a particular go-to device for achieving this separation.

In a conventional workplace, a ponderous, disenchanted employee would be gently nursed through the businesses’ HR protocols, and if nothing could be done to shift the mystery malaise, the Moping Minnie would then be managed out of the business. Football isn’t normal and players can effectively get away with murder.

Alasdair Gold’s latest video transcribed by This Is Futbol, reveals that there is a serious problem with Tanguy.

What is the problem? Here are my 3 wild guesses.

  • Maybe he’s an immensely unlucky fellow, and he’s picked up another knock.
  • He would be aware the press was watching and wanted to place more pressure on Mourinho, and that ordinarily, he trains with a distinct dynamism.
  • Worst case scenario, the rumoured bust-up with Jose was huge and the boy is still preparing himself to forgive the gaffer, or the rumoured bust-up with Jose was huge and the boy wants out.

As I’ve concluded previously, the only way we get a hint that this situation – whatever it was – is recoverable, is if he starts playing for us again.

All eyes on July 2nd, when Spurs play Sheffield United in the Premier League.

You’re right, but at £200k a week he’s a winner. I have mates who have loved being furloughed on full pay and they don’t earn big money. We are going to pay this charlatan just over £37m over the next 4 years, on top of the £9.6m from this year to do very little. A bit like Ozil, he’s laughing all the way to the bank. At least Ozil has a draw full of medals. Everyone can see why he no longer wants to play for Arsenal, they’re rubbish, and he has no reason to leave on much reduced wages. He isn’t going to play big time football again. Neither player has a loyalty to the club’s they are at. Our best hope is for Spurs to cash in on his infamy. A triple Charloais beef Ndombele burger, triple cheese and triple bacon stacked on a brioche bun. This should be on the menus throughout the stadium and on Deliveroo for £20. On second thoughts, he’d want naming rights, so I’ll have the ‘Overpriced, useless waste of space burger’ please. It comes Super sized without even having to ask!

Happy to get rid if we can get over £30m for him. Does more damage than good if he’s not going to try. Put it down to experience and move on.

The trouble for him is that if he wants to play, either he has to pull his socks up here or go somewhere else where they will pay his wages. And who will be willing to do that given his behaviour at Spurs? It’s catch 22 for him and us. The way out of it is to start performing. He’s a fool if he can’t understand this.

He doesn’t know how lucky he is. Which club seeing what he gives on the pitch and the circus created off the field would pay this guy 200k a week, for what. I hope Tanguy isn’t auditioning for the role of a professional malcontent, because it won’t end well for him or whatever club he’s with. Maybe he’s a ” why always me player”.

This is what can happen when a player gets too much too soon (£200k).This will be a wake up call in signing young players with potential on huge contracts,it can all go tits up.How much time is spent on discovering the character of the individual before spending £54m on a transfer.

He’s on a five year contract and is earning a reputed 200k per week and is our record signing. He will be very difficult to shift in the current market to allow us to get our money back. It also appears that he is one of those players with an ongoing retinue of professional agitators who leak stories to the French press. Hard to see a solution to this unless he is prepared to buckle down and behave in a responsible and professional manner. A potentially very gifted player but I suspect he will be constant trouble. He has form for this as well.
