‘It took us on…’: Brennan Johnson reveals what pushed Tottenham to the win after late goal

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur picked up an impressive win over Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League earlier today.

The North London outfit conceded an early goal when Pascal Gross put the away side ahead from the penalty spot. However, they did well to fight back in the second half with goals from Pape Matar Sarr and Brennan Johnson.

Sarr scored the equaliser in the 61st minute and Johnson grabbed a winner deep into injury time. The 22-year-old Tottenham winger has now revealed that it was the support and motivation from the fans that drove Tottenham to the win in the end.

He said to the fans after the game: “Hi guys, thank you so much for the support today. It took us on until the last minute and we’re delighted to get the three points and see you next week”.

The win takes Tottenham up to fourth in the league table, and they will be hoping to stay there until the end of the season.

Spurs have had an impressive campaign so far and a return to the Champions League would be a tremendous achievement for Ange Postecoglou in his first season at the club. Tottenham have impressed with their free-flowing attacking football and they have brought in a number of exciting signings as well.

They will be hoping to compete for major trophies in the coming seasons, but they need to return to the Champions League first.

The win over Brighton will have given them an immense confidence boost. They will be hoping to build on this and put together a winning run now.

The likes of Aston Villa are breathing down their necks and Tottenham cannot afford to drop points in the coming weeks. They are now two points adrift of bitter rivals Arsenal, who are in third place.
