Tottenham Hotspur have had their fair share of injury problems this season and it seems that they have been dealt another blow during the game against Burnley.
Tottenham picked up a narrow win over Burnley in the FA Cup last night defender Ben Davies has picked up a hamstring injury.
Ange Postecoglou confirmed to Football London: “Yeah, Ben Davies looks like he has done his hamstring. So, it looks like he will be out and Gio has a bit of tightness but hoping it is nothing serious.”
Spurs have been without Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero in recent weeks but the Dutchman has now returned from his knock. He was on the bench against Burnley and he is expected to start in the coming weeks.
Davies can slot in as a central defender as well as a left-back. His absence in the coming weeks will certainly be a blow for the north London club.
Tottenham will be hoping to get over their injury problems and get back to their best during the second half of the campaign. They started the season really well but persistent injury problems contributed to their decline.
They will need to add more depth to their defensive unit and it remains to be seen whether they can sign a quality central defender before the January transfer window closes.
Davies is an experienced Premier League performer and his versatility makes him an asset for the Londoners. Tottenham will hope that he can return from his hamstring injury quickly and help the team during the second half of the campaign.
