Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has been linked with the move to Liverpool in recent weeks.
The 58-year-old manager has impressed since taking over at the North London club, and it is hardly a surprise that he is already being linked with an exit from the club.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp recently announced that he will leave the club in the summer and take a sabbatical from management. Liverpool are now looking at potential alternatives and the 58-year-old has been linked with a move to Anfield.
Postecoglou is a boyhood Liverpool fan and he has impressed in the Premier League so far. He could prove to be an interesting option for the Reds.
However, Fabrizio Romano has now revealed in his exclusive column with CaughtOffside that there is nothing to worry about as the Australian manager is fully focused on Tottenham.
In addition to that, there has not been any contact between the Tottenham manager’s camp and Liverpool.
“He’s very happy at Tottenham and I’m not aware of contacts with other clubs. He was also very much involved in talks to convince Lucas Bergvall to join Spurs for example, so it doesn’t look like a worrying situation to me.”
It is highly unlikely that Postecoglou will leave Spurs after his first season at the club. Even though the opportunity to manage Liverpool can be quite tempting, especially for a boyhood Liverpool fan, the Australian is unlikely to abandon the project at Tottenham.
The North London club have backed him heavily in the last couple of transfer windows, and they will expect him to build a formidable squad and win trophies in the coming seasons.
