‘It could be an opportunity’: Harry Kane drops a hint about his Tottenham future

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old will enter the final year of his contract with the club this summer and he has not signed an extension with them yet.

However, the Tottenham striker has not dropped a hint regarding his long-term future at the club. Tottenham have had a disappointing campaign so far and they are set to miss out on Champions League qualification.

However, they could find themselves in the Europa League or the UEFA Europa Conference League next year.

Kane has now revealed that if Tottenham ends up winning the Conference League trophy next season, participating in the competition could be worth it.

Tottenham have not won a single trophy for a number of years and Kane is yet to win something at the club level.

Kane said via Standard: “If we can come away from this season with European football, that’s a small prize at the end of a tough season. We’ll be fighting for that and fighting in the three games to try to pick up three wins.

“Ultimately I like to play football games no matter what competition it is. That’s what you deserve from where you finish in the season. You can’t disrespect any competition that you play in.

“It’s one of those, if you end up in the Conference League and win it, it’s worth it. If you don’t, then people probably look at it as an inconvenience.

“But when you’ve been at a club where we haven’t won a trophy for 15 years, if we do end up in it, it could be an opportunity to try and put that to bed.”

The fact that he is contemplating winning the Conference League next season suggests that he might plan on staying at his boyhood club.

The player has been linked with Manchester United as well but Tottenham will be desperate to hold on to him.

The striker has 28 goals across all competitions and he is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world. Losing him will be a devastating blow for Tottenham.

The north London giants must look to hold on to him at all costs if they want to challenge for trophies in the coming seasons.
