“I thought he was…” – Ange Postecoglou singles out one player for his performance against Newcastle

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham got back to winning ways and they did so in style as they thrashed Newcastle 4-1.

Destiny Udogie scored his first Premier League goal for Tottenham to give them the lead in the 26th minute.

Merely 8 minutes later, Richarlison scored from close range after some great piece of skill from Son in the build-up.

The second half saw Richarlison score his second of the game in the 60th minute before Son scoring a penalty late in the game to seal the dominant victory.

One could hardly point out a player who did not have a good game but Ange has particularly singled out one player, praising him for his performance in the number 10 role.

When asked after the game on what he thought of the Swede’s performance, he told Sky Sports:

“Yeah, very good. He’s had to play a variety of roles, again because of what we’ve gone through in terms of injuries.

“Everywhere he’s played he’s always been effective and I thought he was really effective today.”

Kulusevski has become an integral part of Ange’s set up having played in every single game so far.

His versatility allows him to play in multiple positions and his ability to play as an attacking midfielder is a boost for Spurs during the absence of James Maddison.
