Tottenham Hotspur attacker Jamie Donley is highly rated within the club.
The 19-year-old is expected to develop into a key first-team player in the coming seasons and Tottenham fans will hope that we can develop further and fulfil his tremendous potential with them.
Donley has not had ample first-team opportunities so far, but it is evident that Ange Postecoglou trusts him and the Australian manager has already handed him a few cameos. Donley will look to continue working hard in training and force his way into the starting lineup in the coming seasons.
Meanwhile, journalist Jack Pitt-Brooke has now revealed that the 19-year-old is highly rated within the club and he is likened to Harry Kane and Julian Alvarez because of his style of play. Donley is more than just a goal scorer and he tends to help out his team creatively as well. The youngster likes to drop deep and get involved in the build-up play like Kane and Alvarez.
“Yeah if you speak to anyone who knows the most about this topic they all say that Donley is the best of his age group,” speaking on The View from The Lane Podcast, Jack Pitt-Brooke said.
“I saw him play at the start of last season and my impression is that it’s not clear what position he will play when he grows up into senior football. He’s played up front a lot but he’s not a pure striker, he’s a nine and a half, some have compared him to Harry Kane, and someone I spoke to the other day compared him to Julian Alvarez at Man City who is a striker but takes up a lot of deeper positions as well.”
The youngster is certainly an exciting prospect with a big future ahead of him and it will be interesting to see if he can establish himself as a first-team player in the coming seasons.
If he manages to fulfil his tremendous potential with Tottenham, he could end up saving them millions in the transfer market. It is no surprise that Tottenham need to bring in attacking reinforcements at the end of the season and they will hope that Donley can step up and fill the void next season.
