Tottenham Hotspur signed Radu Dragusin from Genoa at the start of the season.
The defender is still adapting to life in the Premier League and he has not been a regular starter for the north London club.
The Romanian defender has played just eight minutes in the Premier League. Naturally, there have been speculations about his role in the side.
The 22-year-old’s agent Florin Manea is not worried about the player’s future at Tottenham. He feels that it is normal for the player to take some time to adapt to a new league and a new club. He added that Dragusin will get his opportunities at Tottenham.
The player’s agent also believes that his client wasn’t going to displace players like Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven from the starting lineup immediately.
Manea said (h/t PlaySport): “You have nothing to worry about, it’s normal. After this defeat (to Wolves), I hope he will get his chances. He couldn’t have knocked them all out. Romero is a world champion. Van de Ven played well.
“The idea is that when he comes in, he plays well and doesn’t leave. He works hard in training. It was noticed by the manager and his teammates. He’s training well.”
The 22-year-old is a talented young player with a bright future ahead of him. It will be interesting to see if he can force his way into the starting lineup in the coming weeks. Dragusin needs to play more often to continue his development and fulfil his potential. If he can continue to impress in training, he will surely get his opportunity soon.
Tottenham need a a quality squad in order to compete for major trophies and therefore having the competition for places should be a top priority.
The player’s mother has also echoed similar sentiments recently claiming that they are not worried about the defender’s lack of game time at Tottenham right now.
Dragusin will certainly hope that he can convince the manager with his quality in training and force the Australian to hand him more opportunities in the coming months.
