Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish.

The 29-year-old has endured a tough time at the Premier League club in recent months and he has fallen down the pecking order. He is no longer a key player for them and he needs to move on in search of regular playing time.

According to football insider, Tottenham are tracking the player and they could make a move for him if he’s made available at the end of the season.

Former Spurs scout Mick Brown said: “He’d definitely be an asset to Tottenham and he’s one of the players they’ve been tracking.

“The manager is keen to add some more depth in wide areas too. So, from what I’ve heard, he’s one they’ll make a move for if he becomes available.”

The 29-year-old was regarded as one of the finest playmakers in the league during his time at Aston Villa, but the move to Manchester City has not worked out for him. Perhaps a fresh start would be ideal and Spurs could provide him with an exit route. The North London club need more quality and depth in the final third and the England international is capable of slotting into multiple roles.

Grealish could provide competition to James Maddison and he will add goals and creativity to the side. The competition for places will help both players improve.

If Spurs can provide him with first-team assurances, the player could be tempted to join them. He is 29 and he could still get his career back on track. He needs a manager who will believe in his ability and Ange Postecoglou might be able to bring out the best in him.

It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds over the next few months.
