Former Tottenham Hotspur player Jamie O’Hara feels that the North London outfit should look to cash in on Ben Davies at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old was handed a start as the left-back against Arsenal in the North London Derby, and he struggled to cope defensively. The 86-cap Welsh international found it difficult to deal with the pace and trickery from Bukayo Saka.

O’Hara feels that he is not good enough to start for Tottenham anymore and the North London club should look to sell him at the end of the season and bring in an upgrade.

On talkSPORT, O’Hara said: “We go 2-0 down, Ben Davies, shouldn’t be playing left-back but has to play left-back, he’s not good enough. We need to get rid.

“Show Saka on his right, show him away from the goal. You let him come in and just put one in the bottom corner. You know what he’s going to do. You know he’s going to do that.”

Tottenham were forced to hand him a start against Arsenal at the weekend after the injury blow to Destiny Udogie. The Italian international is the first choice left-back at the club and Davies is unlikely to start ahead of him once he returns from injury.

It will be interesting to see if the North London club decide to sell the Welsh international at the end of the season. He has been a useful servant for Tottenham over the years and the 31-year-old could still be an important player for them.

Tottenham need a deeper squad to do well across multiple competitions and they should look to hold on to the Welsh international.
