“…he’ll want to leave” – Spurs star being watched by other top clubs ahead of the summer window

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up for the upcoming transfer window, with potential targets on their radar.

However, there are speculations that certain Spurs players may attract interest from other clubs eyeing potential transfers.

One such player is central midfielder Pape Matar Sarr.

Former Spurs defender and BBC Radio 5 Live pundit Alan Hutton believes that Sarr’s performances this season will certainly catch the eye of other clubs as the summer transfer window approaches.

The Senegalese youngster has been a consistent presence in Tottenham’s lineup whenever available, showcasing his versatile skill set on the pitch.

In Spurs’ recent crucial away match against Aston Villa, Sarr once again impressed, drawing praise from manager Ange Postecoglou for his contribution.

While speaking to Tottenham News, Hutton expressed his belief that the 21-year-old would not be eager to leave the club, especially when he’s playing his best football and enjoying his time at Spurs. Hutton emphasized the positive atmosphere within the squad and the promising direction the club is heading.

He stated:

“I think all players playing at a high level will have people watching them. It’s just a part of football. He’s playing probably his best football since coming to the club. The one thing I would say, why would you want to leave that?”

“Even if they miss out on the Champions League, they’re building something, they’re going to strengthen again, and he’s a main part of that team moving forward. He’ll want to be part of that, he can see what’s coming, and there’s light at the end of the tunnel.”

“The grass isn’t always greener so I think he’d want to stay under Ange, he’s been a revelation obviously at Tottenham and you can see that in the style of play.

“Yes, there will be people watching him, but I don’t think he’ll want to leave.”

In his debut Premier League season, Sarr has featured in 23 games, contributing three goals and three assists, showcasing his importance to the Spurs squad.

TBH Says:

It is no surprise that Sarr is being looked at with keenness by other top clubs, including Barcelona.

But we should not worry about it too much. He has just signed a new long-term contract and he’s one of the players Ange absolutely adores. There is no way he is going to sign off on his transfer.
