“He is going to go to Tottenham” – BBC man makes big claim about Premier League manager

BBC’s football pundit Chris Sutton has made a bold claim regarding the managerial vacancy at Tottenham Hotspur.

Sutton has stated that if Spurs were to offer the job to Roberto De Zerbi, the current boss of Brighton & Hove Albion, he would accept it in the summer.

De Zerbi’s name has been mentioned in the media as one of the potential candidates to replace Antonio Conte, who was recently sacked by Tottenham.

Despite other high-profile names such as Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique being considered favourites for the job.

De Zerbi’s remarkable work at Brighton has made him a wanted man across Europe, with Tottenham said to be one of the clubs interested in him.

And Sutton made the statement during the BBC Radio Show 606, where he confidently claimed:

“He is going to go to Tottenham. If they offer him the job, he is going to go to Tottenham, right?”

De Zerbi’s time at Brighton has been commendable, with the Italian manager making a significant impact in a short time. He has them fighting for a place in Europe as well as guided them to the FA Cup semi-final where they will play Manchester United for a place in the final.

However, tensions arose during Tottenham’s recent 2-1 win over Brighton, as De Zerbi was involved in a heated confrontation with interim Spurs manager Cristian Stellini. Both managers were subsequently sent off after a brawl erupted between the two benches.

It remains to be seen whether this incident has any bearing on De Zerbi’s potential move to Tottenham.
