‘he has become irreplaceable’: Jamie Redknapp heaps praise on Tottenham ace who has surprised him

By Saikat -

Tottenham midfielder Pape Matar Sarr is having an impressive season with the north London outfit and his performances have left Jamie Redknapp surprised.

The popular pundit has revealed that he did not expect Sarr to be a starter for Tottenham this season and he was expecting a midfield trio of Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur, and James Maddison initially.

However, the youngster has forced his way into the starting lineup after an impressive pre-season, and he has managed to hold down his spot in the team.

Sarr is undoubtedly one of Tottenham’s best performers this season and Redknapp believes that he has become irreplaceable with his performances now.

“When I looked at that midfield at the start once everyone’s fit I thought it will be Bissouma, Maddison and Bentancur because I’m a big fan of Bentancur. But he [Sarr] has become irreplaceable with his performances. The cross last week was one of the best you’ve seen in years. He’s full of confidence and it’s showing,” Redknapp said on Sky.

The youngster is highly rated across Europe and he has a bright future ahead of him. Judging by his performances so far this season, it is safe to assume that he will be a key player for Tottenham for the future.

The midfielder is still only 21 and he is likely to improve with coaching and experience. He has the physical and technical attributes to develop into a top class player and Spurs fans will certainly be excited to see him develop.

The midfielder will also look to build on his impressive season with Tottenham so far and grow as a footballer. He will be hoping to help Tottenham and finish the season strongly and secure Champions League qualification for the next season.

The North London outfit are currently fifth in the league table and they will be thoroughly disappointed with the defeat to Fulham last night.
