Harry Kane pinpoints two areas Tottenham will ‘need to get better in’

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been hugely inconsistent this season and they will have to sort out some of their major weaknesses if they want to finish the season strongly and qualify for the Champions league.

Antonio Conte’s men were beaten by Wolverhampton Wanderers in their last outing. There have been too many instances where Tottenham have picked up morale-boosting wins over teams like Chelsea and dropped points against weaker sides.

Star striker Harry Kane has now reflected on the problems this season and outlined two major weaknesses in the side.

The 29-year-old England international believes that Tottenham must look to improve two areas of their game if they are to finish the season strongly. Kane believes that Tottenham will have to work on their final pass and the finishing.

He said to Football London: “If you want to be fighting at the top of the table you need to be clinical in different moments and that’s not just the finish, it’s the final pass and when you’re three vs two and scenarios like that and I feel like we just need to get better in those moments.

“Premier League games when it’s 0-0 for a large portion you can always get caught and that’s what happened.”

The Londoners have one of the best strikers in world football at their disposal but Kane has been let down by his teammates this season. Tottenham have failed to create ample opportunities for their star striker and it will be interesting to see if they can bring in a quality attacking midfielder ahead of the next season.

Kane will certainly need more help and support from his teammates. Spurs were linked with a number of attacking midfielders at the start of the season and in January. Players like Nicolo Zaniolo were on the club’s radar but the transfers never quite materialised.

Spurs will be hoping to challenge for major trophies in the coming seasons and they must look to plug the gaps in the squad first.
