Pundit convinced 50-year-old manager will now take the Spurs job after recent developments

By Mehdi Gokal -

Former Spurs man turned pundit Jamie O’Hara is backing Brendan Rodgers for the Tottenham job.

Leicester City announced last night that they have parted ways with the Irishman after a disappointing season which has them fighting to avoid relegation this season.

Tottenham are also without a manager at the moment after they sacked Conte last week following his outburst at the players and the owners. While assistant manager Cristian Stellini has been named the interim manager until the end of the season, the club are searching for the ideal replacement for the Italian for next season.

Spurs have been linked with a number of high-profile managers, including Mauricio Pochettino, Julian Nagelsmann, and Luis Enrique. However, the recent sacking of Graham Potter by Chelsea has thrown a spanner in the works, with Nagelsmann now reportedly the favourite to take over at Stamford Bridge.

However, one more name is now added to the list of potential Spurs’ candidates and that is Brendan Rodgers. Spurs have been long admirers of him. According to The Times, Spurs approached Rodgers back in 2013 but he rejected them in favour of the Liverpool job. They very then keen on hiring him after sacking Pochettino However, the former Liverpool man preferred to stay put at Leicester, and they turned to Jose Mourinho instead.

And Jamie O’Hara has now predicted how the sacking of Rodgers and Graham Potter will affect Spurs. He believes Potter will now take over the Leicester City job while Brendan Rodgers will be Spurs’ new manager while Julian Nagelsmann is going to go to Chelsea.

He tweeted: Potter to Leicester, Brendan to spurs, Nagelsmann to Chelsea defo gonna happen”

Despite the poor season, Rodgers has done an exceptional job with the Foxes over the last few years. He led them to win the first FA Cup title in their history, after a 1–0 win over Chelsea and then guided them to their first European semi-final in the UEFA Conference League but lost to Roma.
