Former PL winning player eyed as Conte replacement, 36-year-old keen on Spurs job

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of managers as a potential replacement for Antonio Conte.

The Italian manager was recently sacked by the north London club after an explosive press conference where he questioned the commitment and mentality of his players.

The Premier League side have appointed Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason on an interim basis and they are now looking for a long-term replacement for the 53-year-old.

As per the Sun, Burnley manager Vincent Kompany is on their radar as Conte’s replacement and the Belgian is ready to take over at the north London club.

Kompany has done an outstanding job at Burnley this season and the Clarets are currently fighting for promotion to the Premier League. Burnley have a great chance of returning to the top flight in the summer and it is no surprise that Kompany’s exploits have caught the attention of the top clubs.

Spurs could do with an exciting young manager like Kompany who will bring an attacking philosophy into the club. Burnley have garnered a lot of praise because of their playing style this season.

The attacking players at Tottenham will benefit from Kompany’s arrival as well. They have struggled because of Conte’s defensive approach and Kompany would give them the freedom to express themselves.

Players like Son Heung-Min and Richarlison have not been at their best and they could thrive in Kompany’s attacking setup next season. It remains to be seen whether the Belgian is appointed as the Spurs manager in the coming months.
