“expected to join Tottenham” – Charlie Eccleshare shares exciting Tottenham update

By Mehdi Gokal -

Aston Villa’s head of football research Frederik Leth is expected to join Tottenham Hotspur.

There are a lot of changes happening behind the scenes at Spurs. The club appointed Scott Munn as the new Chief Football Officer who assumed the role at the start of September.

This was followed by appointment of Johan Lange who joined from Aston Villa as the new sporting director and is responsible for recruitment, analytics and talent identification across the senior and academy teams.

Yesterday, Matt Law reported that another Aston Villa man, Rob MacKenzie has left the club and is expected to join Spurs as the new chief scout next week.

And as per today’s news from The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare (via Last Word On Spurs), Aston Villa’s head of football research Frederik Leth is also expected to join Tottenham.

Lange and Leth have worked together for several years with a relationship that goes back to Lange’s time at FC Copenhagen where Leth had a role in the scouting department.

The decision to bring in Lange, MacKenzie , and potentially Leth reflects the ongoing changes at the club following the arrival of manager Ange Postecoglou during the summer.

The changes since the summer have all been very positive. The appointment of Ange Postecoglou has been a brilliant decision who has come in and instantly changed the mood at the club.

And these further changes all point towards a positive change at the club. It is also being reported that Levy will be stepping back from getting involved in footballing matters and will let the new personnels flourish at their roles.

Tottenham are currently unbeaten in the league and have a 2 point lead over arch rivals Arsenal. They are also 5 points ahead of Manchester City.
