‘Everyone’s so excited’ A new player reveals the scene inside the Spurs dressing room

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham deadline day signing Brennan Johnson has revealed the mood inside the dressing room after their dramatic comeback against Sheffield United on Saturday.

Gustavo Hamer had given Sheffield United the lead an unlikely in the 73rd minute, seemingly setting them on course for victory.

However in the 98th minute of stoppage time, Richarlison popped up to score a brilliant header from a late Spurs corner to draw level the score.

And just two minutes later, he played a key role in the equaliser. The Brazilian provided the assist to Dejan Kulusevski, who fired the ball into the top-left corner, completing the stunning turnaround for Ange Postecoglou’s team.

After the game, Spurs journalist Paul Miles asked Johnson about the mood and the scenes in the dressing room after the win.

Speaking after the game with Spurs Play, Johnson acknowledged that Spurs weren’t at their best for the first half and part of the game but highlighted their determination and resilience.

He emphasised the importance of maintaining a high level of performance throughout the match and praised the team’s ability to create chances even in the final moments.

When asked about the mood inside the dressing room, he said:

“Yeah it’s a good place right now, everyone’s so excited and I think more we deserved it [the win] to be honest.”

“We weren’t at our best for the first half and maybe the first 60 minutes, but we showed them sniffs we can get chances and create stuff.

“Even if it goes to the last minute and it’s still got to be a 110-minute performance and we showed that today.”

The comeback win against Sheffield United was a significant result for Tottenham, not only for the victory itself but also for the boost it provided to the mood, passion, and mentality within the club.
