Eintracht Frankfurt are hoping to sign the Tottenham striker Timo Werner this month.

The 28-year-old is currently on loan at the North London club, but he has not been able to establish himself as a regular starter for them. Although he has made 25 appearances for them across all competitions this season, most of them have come as substitutes.

The RB Leipzig-owned striker will be hoping to get his career back on track with regular football and a move back to the Bundesliga could be ideal for him. Frankfurt are expecting to lose star striker Omar Marmoush, who is on the radar of Manchester City. They are looking at Werner as a potential replacement, as per Football Insider.

Although the 28-year-old striker has struggled in the Premier League, he has an impressive record in the Bundesliga. The striker has scored 102 goals in German football during his time at RB Leipzig and Stuttgart.

He knows the league well and he is a proven performer in Germany. He could prove to be a quality acquisition for Frankfurt if they can get the deal done. It would be an inexpensive addition for them as well.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to terminate his loan deal and let him leave the club. They are hoping to bring in attacking signings before the window closes. They have been linked with players like Marcus Rashford recently.

Werner is at the peak of his powers right now, and he will want to play regularly and regain his top form. A return to his comfort zone would be ideal for him. Tottenham have not been able to get the best out of him and it could be the right time for them to cut him loose and bring in an upgrade.
