Real Madrid are looking to improve their defensive unit during the summer transfer window.
They have identified multiple targets for the central defensive role and Tottenham defender Micky Van de Ven is on their shortlist.
According to Fichajes, the defenders of their radar could cost around €70-120 million. Real Madrid are prepared to make a big investment in order to get the deal done.
Van de Ven has been exceptional for Tottenham since joining the club and there is no doubt that he would be a quality addition to the Real Madrid defence.
Apart from his defensive qualities, his pace makes him a valuable asset. He is also versatile enough to operate in the full-back areas. The defender has shown his quality in the Premier League and the Bundesliga. He has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in La Liga as well. The opportunity to join Real Madrid could be quite exciting for him.
They are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and they could provide him with the platform to fight for major trophies. Tottenham have an ambitious project, but they are not quite at that level yet. Any player would be attracted to the idea of playing for Real Madrid, should the opportunity present itself.

It will be interesting to see if Real Madrid comes forward with an official offer to sign the player. They have the resources to pay a premium and Daniel Levy is unlikely to make the move easy. He will not want to lose a key player and Spurs will hold out for a substantial amount of money. It remains to be seen whether the two parties can secure an agreement over the next few months.
