Euro giants want £39m Spurs star who has not performed at the ‘expected level’

Tottenham Hotspur signed Pedro Porro from Sporting CP during the January transfer window and the 23-year-old has had a mixed campaign at the London club so far.

A report from Fichajes claims that Barcelona could look to provide him with an exit route this summer after a season where he has not been at the ‘expected level’.

Apparently, the Spanish giants are looking to bring in a quality right back and they have identified the Spaniard as a potential target.

It remains to be seen whether they can agree on a deal with Tottenham in the coming weeks.

Spurs signed the player on loan in January with the obligation to make the deal permanent. It seems that Tottenham could look to try and sell the player for a profit after making the move permanent this summer for £39 million.

Barcelona have had to use players like Jules Kounde as the right back at times and they could certainly use a more specialist option.

Porro was outstanding for Sporting CP and he has the ability to thrive at Barcelona. The free-flowing attacking system at the Spanish club could be the ideal fit for him.

The 23-year-old can operate as a wing-back as well and he should fit into Xavi Hernandez’s style of play seamlessly.

Tottenham are going through a period of transition and the opportunity to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world could prove to be hard to turn down for the Spaniard.

Barcelona managed to win the league title this past season and they will be hoping to do well in the Champions League next year.

They need quality reinforcements in order to compete with the European elite and the 23-year-old Tottenham defender would be a quality long-term investment.
