Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze for a while.

They are expected to make a move for the 26-year-old England international at the end of the season, and former Premier League scout Mick Brown has suggested that the player would be open to joining the north London club. Manchester United are keen on signing him as well.

He said to Football Insider: “They want to keep him and I don’t expect he’s the type of player to force through a move unless Palace’s asking price is met.

“Tottenham have been interested for a long time and he’s their type of player.

“If Eze has the opportunity to move to a team like Tottenham, I think he would be open to that, and it’s not slight on Palace and what they’ve done.

“So that move wouldn’t surprise me, but it will only be on Palace’s terms and they want to keep him.”

Eze has established himself as a top performer in the Premier League with the Eagles, and he will want to take the next step in his development and join a bigger club now. He will want to fight for trophies regularly, and Tottenham could provide him with that platform.

Meanwhile, the London club needs to add more quality and depth through their attacking unit. Eze is versatile enough to operate as a winger as well as a central attacking midfielder. He will add goals and creativity to the side.

Tottenham have an exciting project and a talented squad. The opportunity to play for them will be hard to turn down for the Crystal Palace star.

However, he is unlikely to be a chief acquisition, and Tottenham will have to pay his asking price if they want to get the deal done. The 26-year-old has a release of £68 million, according to a report from Football Insider. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are willing to pay up.
