Doctor makes claim about key Tottenham star which will leave fans worried

Tottenham face yet another injury concern in the ongoing campaign, with primary defender Micky van de Ven potentially playing through the injury.

The Dutch defender has been a revelation since he arrived in North London, demonstrating a rapid adaptation to the English top flight and consistently delivering quality performances.

Van de Ven has undoubtedly been a valuable addition to Ange Postecoglou’s squad, although the injury woes could pose a concern for the club.

As per Dr. Rajpal Brar, the young centre-back might be playing through discomfort to sidestep the necessity for surgery.

The expert pointed out seeing a roll outside Van de Ven’s dressing room area ahead of the fixture against Newcastle United last month, in a photo shared by the club’s official handle on X.

Dr Brar, a physical therapy doctor and sports scientist, insinuated that Van de Ven might be opting to play through the injury to postpone a procedure, aiming to contribute during the crucial final stretch of the season.

Although acknowledging that many players tape up even when they are healthy, Dr. Brar suggested that it might not even be an injury concern.

Speaking to Tottenham News, he said:

“Difficult to say without knowing the specific type of roll and what it’s used for.

“Many players like to tape up even when healthy and many players are also playing through discomfort at this part of the season.

“He has had fitness issues lately so it would not surprise me if there was something.

“As Spurs have something to play for, he might be postponing any treatment or surgery for the summer, as professional footballers sometimes do.“

Van de Ven has been a consistent presence on Tottenham’s teamsheet, featuring in the starting XI for each of his 22 appearances.

However, injuries have been a concern for the Netherlands international, with a previous hamstring injury sustained in a match against Chelsea last November.

This injury kept him out of action for nearly two months, causing him to miss ten games for Spurs.
