Doctor confirms versatile Spurs ace is ahead of recovery schedule, ‘could even return next week’

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur left-back, Ryan Sessegnon, appears poised for an earlier than expected comeback from his hamstring injury, as indicated by injury specialist Dr. Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert suggests that Sessegnon could resume training before the year’s end, potentially setting the stage for an early January return.

Discussing the 23-year-old on Tottenham News, he said:

“From what I’ve read, it sounds like it is a possible return in early January.

“If that’s the case, he should be returning to pitch work soon and then individual training. He could even return next week which indicates he’s ahead of schedule.

“His day-to-day will continue to progress intensity with an increasing focus on sport-specific activities.“

Sessegnon suffered a hamstring injury during summer training, sidelining him for an extended recovery period.

However, signs point to his imminent return to pitch work and individual training, which will come as a big boost for Ange.

During the summer transfer window, Sessegnon attracted interest from a number of English clubs, including Crystal Palace, Fulham, and Nottingham Forest, as well as foreign clubs like Marseille and Benfica.

But his need for surgery, which was set to keep him out until the end of the transfer window, put an end to any potential moves.

But now, after the injury to Perisic. Sessegnon is the other left-back option Ange all have as back up to Destiny Udogie.

Udogie has been a standout performer for Spurs in the left-back position this season and will be holding his spot in Ange’s starting XI even after Sessegnon returns.

The Italian left-back has maintained a consistent presence in Tottenham’s lineup, contributing with a goal and two assists in league fixtures.
